MANHATTAN, NEW YORK – Drawing comparisons between Al Capone and Donald Trump might seem like a stretch at first, but when you dig into their legal battles, a troubling pattern emerges. Capone, a notorious gangster, and Trump, a former president, both faced intense scrutiny, but the fairness of their trials couldn’t be more different.

Capone was a hardened criminal, deeply involved in organized crime during the Prohibition era. His empire was built on bootlegging, gambling, prostitution, and countless violent crimes, including murder. Yet, despite his blatant criminal activities, law enforcement struggled to convict him on anything substantial. Intimidation and corruption were rampant in his case. Witnesses were scared into silence, jurors were bribed, and officials were on his payroll. It was a nightmare for prosecutors to gather reliable evidence against him.
Capone was smart; he kept his hands clean from the actual dirty work, making it nearly impossible to link him directly to crimes. His legal team was top-notch, exploiting every loophole and procedural error to get charges dismissed. The public and political pressure to nail him was enormous, leading to rushed and poorly constructed cases that often fell apart in court. In the end, they got him on tax evasion, a far cry from the murders and violent crimes he orchestrated, but it was the best they could do with the evidence they had.
Now, look at Trump’s situation. From the start, everything about his trial in New York has been corrupt and rotten. Alvin Bragg’s predecessor declined to prosecute the case, and Bragg himself initially followed suit. The DOJ also passed on it. Then, out of nowhere, Matthew Colangelo, who was high up in the DOJ, took a massive career downgrade to join the Manhattan DA’s office. Not long after, the case against Trump magically reappeared with Colangelo leading the charge. It smells like political maneuvering, plain and simple.

The case against Trump hinged on an alleged federal election violation that had never been charged before. It was a shaky foundation at best. The judge, Juan Merchan, had a clear conflict of interest, having donated to Joe Biden, and his daughter is a professional consultant for Democrat campaigns. This is blatant bias. Throughout the trial, Merchan overruled defense objections repeatedly, allowing the prosecution to run rampant. He even refused to let an FEC official testify that no federal election crime was committed. The judge instructed the jury that they didn’t need to unanimously agree on the underlying felony Trump supposedly tried to conceal. This is outrageous! Michael Cohen, the prosecution’s star witness, is a convicted liar with a vendetta against Trump. He was caught lying about a crucial phone call during cross-examination. And what’s alleged to have happened, even if it were a crime, was done under the advice of Cohen himself. Despite all these irregularities, Trump was found guilty on all 34 charges. This trial isn’t about justice; it’s about getting Trump at any cost. It’s a sham show trial in front of a biased judge and a biased NYC jury. The fact that we’ve gotten this far is a travesty of justice and a stain on our country.
Look at the broader picture of how justice is handled in this city. Jeffrey Epstein, who sexually exploited children, was given community service. Meanwhile, a man defending lives against a threatening individual on the subway faces harsh punishment. A judge even declined to dismiss the case against U.S. Marine veteran Daniel Penny, who intervened in a dangerous situation. This is the same city that has now convicted Trump on charges that many see as politically motivated and legally dubious.
Capone, despite being a genuine criminal mastermind, was treated more fairly than Trump is being treated now. The system bent over backward to ensure Capone’s conviction was based on concrete evidence, even if it was just tax evasion in the end. But with Trump, it’s a different story. From the get-go, this trial has been tainted with corruption and political bias. If we allow this kind of judicial overreach and bias to stand, we’re undermining the very foundations of our legal system. Justice should be blind, not politically motivated. What’s happening to Trump is a disgrace, and it’s up to us to call it out for what it is: a politically motivated witch hunt that makes a mockery of our justice system.
It’s not that we’re upset about Trump being held accountable per se. The law is paramount, but, it’s about the way his story has been twisted and you have cajoled to get him for anything you dream up. You claimed he was guilty of Russian collusion, that he stole the election, sold secrets to our enemies, and was Putin’s puppet. You accused him of raping E. Jean Carroll, stealing documents, interfering with the election, and committing treason on January 6th. He was impeached twice and nearly a third time. Well, congratulations, liberals, you finally got one charge to stick. You painted Trump as Al Capone, but the only “crime” Donald Trump committed was caring about us more than you, and you’re willing to destroy him for it.
You keep saying nobody is above the law, and we agree—that includes you. You got Trump on a technicality that amounts to a jaywalking ticket. He isn’t Capone, but we will see if this “Get Trump at all costs” strategy was worth it. Liberals you’re not Eliot Ness; but you’ve created an entitled mess.

Trump has got my vote and devotion. And unlike most other politician’s I believe in him. Who would risk it all to be President and put up with all the swamp has to throw at you? That’s some big ego, or rather he really want’s to put it on the line to save our country. I’ll go with the latter. The dem’s ARE throwing everything at him and he perseveres much to their dismay. That makes him SOLID to me – TRUMP ’24 !
